Lesson Overview

4.2 – The Difference Between Polite and Over-Explaining: Being polite means showing respect; over-explaining means defending yourself. You don’t owe long stories for every no. Extra words often come from fear of disapproval. Short, kind sentences are stronger than nervous essays. For example, “I can’t today, but thank you” says enough. When you explain too much, people may argue or push harder. Keep your message clear and kind, not crowded. Your limits are valid even without proof. The less you justify, the more confident you sound. Simplicity is the secret to peaceful communication.
