8.1 – Understanding Pushback as Normal: When you start setting boundaries, not everyone will like it. People used to your old habits may feel surprised or even hurt. This is called pushback—it’s a normal reaction to change, not a sign you’re wrong. Stay calm and expect it instead of fearing it. Remind yourself that growth often makes others uncomfortable at first. Don’t rush to fix their feelings or retreat from your limit. Each time you hold steady, resistance weakens. Over time, consistency replaces conflict. Change takes courage, and courage invites temporary friction.
