Ask, “Do you want advice or just a listener?” That question prevents emotional burnout. Offer help only when it fits your capacity. True support includes saying, “I care, but I can’t right now.” You’re allowed to protect your peace while being kind. Healthy giving has limits—it’s how friendships stay strong long term. Balance kindness with self-care, and everyone benefits.
