Lesson Overview

5.2 – Communicating Needs With Parents: Talking to parents about your needs can feel risky. You may fear judgment or conflict. The key is calm, clear communication, not blame. Use phrases like “I feel overwhelmed when…” or “I need space to decide.” Timing matters—pick peaceful moments to talk. Listen to their view too, even if you disagree. Showing maturity helps them see your growth. It’s okay if they don’t agree right away—patience builds change. Speaking up respectfully strengthens mutual trust over time.
