Lesson Overview

5.13 – Advocacy in Appointments: Advocacy means speaking up for your health needs clearly and respectfully. Bring notes or questions to each appointment so you don’t forget important points. It’s okay to ask your doctor to slow down or explain in plain words. You deserve to understand your treatment fully. If something doesn’t feel right, say so—it’s your body and mind. You can also bring a trusted friend for support. Advocating doesn’t mean arguing; it means taking charge of your own well-being. Every time you ask questions, you become more confident and empowered in your care.
