📖 Health Literacy for Mental Health Conditions *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

6.11 – Access to Records and Documentation: You have the legal right to see, copy, or correct your health records. Providers must share them within a set time when you ask. Reviewing your records helps you stay informed and catch mistakes. If something feels unclear, ask your doctor to explain it in plain language. Your records belong to you, not the system. You can also decide who else can access them, such as family or new providers. Keeping copies helps you track your care over time. Knowledge is power, and having your records gives you control of your story.
