Lesson Overview

9.9 – Advocacy in Schools and Communities: Schools and communities can lead change by teaching mental health awareness early. Students who learn about emotions grow into adults who listen with empathy. Community programs, clubs, and events create safe spaces to share experiences. Advocating locally might mean starting a wellness club or writing for a school paper. Adults can organize community walks, art shows, or awareness campaigns. Each effort spreads understanding where it’s needed most. Change starts small—with a voice, a poster, or a shared story—and grows into culture-wide acceptance.
