Lesson Overview

5.6 – What Happens at an Intake Appointment: Your first appointment, called an intake, helps the provider understand your story and needs. You’ll answer questions about your symptoms, history, and goals. It’s okay to be nervous—there are no wrong answers. Be honest so your care plan fits you better. The provider may explain treatment options and next steps. You can ask what to expect, how often you’ll meet, and how progress is tracked. Bring notes if it helps you remember details. Intake sessions build the foundation for trust and teamwork. It’s the first step toward understanding yourself and finding relief.
