1.14 – Setting Up Informational Interviews: An informational interview is a short chat to learn about a job. Reach out politely and explain why you want their advice. Prepare a few questions about daily tasks and skills. Ask how they started and what they’d do differently now. Listen closely and take quick notes as they speak. Keep the meeting brief and thank them for their time. Ask if they recommend anyone else to talk to. Send a short thank-you message the same day. Review your notes and highlight key insights. Use what you learned to plan your next steps.
