13.24 – Protecting Your Reputation Online and Offline: Your reputation follows you everywhere, especially in the digital age. Think before you post anything that could seem rude, unsafe, or unprofessional. Future employers often check social media profiles before hiring. Keep your online presence positive by sharing your achievements and values. In person, treat everyone with respect — coworkers, customers, and strangers alike. Keep promises and communicate honestly. Avoid gossip and protect others’ privacy. Reputation takes years to build but only moments to damage. When people trust your words and actions, doors open easily. The best protection is living your values every day, on and off the screen. A strong reputation is one of the best investments you can make in yourself.
