Lesson Overview

5.13 – Planning for Emergency Expenses: Emergencies happen—car repairs, medical bills, or lost jobs can appear anytime. Start an emergency fund as soon as you can. Aim for at least a few hundred dollars to begin, then grow it over time. Keep this money in a separate savings account so it’s not spent accidentally. Add to it regularly, even with small amounts. Avoid using credit cards for emergencies if you can pay cash. Review your fund after each major expense and rebuild it quickly. Knowing you’re prepared helps reduce anxiety about the unexpected. Emergency savings protect your peace and independence.
