8.5 – Understanding Medication Instructions: Medications work best when used exactly as directed. Always read labels carefully for dosage, timing, and side effects. Use a pill organizer or alarm to remember doses. Never take more than prescribed, even if you feel worse. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you’re unsure about how to take it. Don’t mix medications with alcohol or other drugs unless approved. Store medicines in a cool, dry place out of children’s reach. Refill prescriptions before they run out to avoid gaps. Keep a list of all medications you take in case of emergencies. Following directions carefully keeps you safe and helps treatments work effectively.
