Lesson Overview

9.9 – Avoiding Impulsive Reactions: Acting too quickly in the heat of the moment can make problems worse. When you feel angry or pressured, pause before responding. Count to ten or take deep breaths to calm your mind. Think about the outcome you want before you act. Ask yourself if your choice will help or harm the situation long-term. If needed, step away until you can think clearly. Practice patience—it’s a skill that grows with use. Avoiding impulsive actions protects your relationships and reputation. The ability to pause is one of the strongest problem-solving tools you have.
