3.3 – The Do’s and Don’ts of Workplace Language: The way you speak at work affects how others see you. Do use polite greetings, say please and thank you, and stay professional even under pressure. Don’t use slang, curse words, or rude jokes—they can make others uncomfortable. Speak clearly and avoid mumbling. Do keep a positive attitude when talking about challenges. Don’t spread rumors or talk negatively about coworkers. Use respectful words when disagreeing or offering feedback. Practice active listening instead of interrupting. The right language builds respect and teamwork. Small words can create big opportunities when used well.
