3.15 – How to Advocate for Yourself at Work: Advocating for yourself means speaking up respectfully about your needs and ideas. If you need support or tools to do your job better, explain it clearly. Use facts and examples instead of emotion. Stay calm and confident during discussions. Ask questions when something feels unclear or unfair. Thank your supervisor for listening, even if things don’t change right away. Keep a record of your accomplishments and feedback. Know your rights and company policies so you can speak with knowledge. Standing up for yourself builds respect and confidence. Advocating with kindness helps you grow as both a person and a professional.
