🛡️ Teen Suicide Series
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.36 – OCD, Intrusive Thoughts, and Fear: Obsessive thoughts can trap you in endless cycles of “what if” fears that feel dangerous or shameful. Your mind might replay the same scene or image until you start to believe you’re a bad person for even thinking it. But intrusive thoughts aren’t who you are—they’re anxiety stuck on repeat. Everyone has strange or scary thoughts sometimes; OCD just makes them louder. Trying to fight or suppress them often makes them stronger, so learning to let them pass like clouds is key. Breathing deeply and grounding yourself in reality can help remind you that thoughts aren’t facts. Having safe people to talk to reduces the power of secrecy and guilt. Medication or therapy can quiet the noise that feels uncontrollable. You are not your thoughts, no matter how dark they seem. You’re a person learning how to manage a brain that sometimes shouts instead of whispers.
