Lesson Overview

1.80 – Survivor’s Guilt: “Why Them and Not Me?”: Survivor’s guilt is the feeling that you don’t deserve to be alive when someone else has died. It can feel heavy and confusing, as if you owe them your happiness. Many people replay moments or wonder if they could have switched places. But guilt doesn’t heal the loss — it only adds more pain. Your life still has purpose, and their story is not your fault. You can choose to live in a way that honors what they meant to you. Doing kind things in their memory or helping others who struggle can bring comfort. Grieving doesn’t mean you can’t laugh or feel joy again; it means carrying love forward. Remind yourself that being alive is not something to apologize for. Healing comes when you allow yourself to feel both sorrow and gratitude for the life you have.
