🛡️ Teen Suicide Series

Lesson Overview

1.117 – Are You Trying to Be Liked or Loved?: Being liked feels nice, but being loved feels safe — and they are not the same thing. Many people chase likes, smiles, and attention, mistaking them for connection. Liking is surface; love is deep. Liking changes when you mess up, but love stays when you fall apart. When you only aim to be liked, you constantly perform, editing yourself to stay accepted. But when you choose love, you allow honesty, mistakes, and growth. Love means being known fully — the good, bad, and messy — and still being cared for. You don’t need everyone to like you; you just need a few people who truly see you. Trying to please everyone only leads to burnout and confusion. Real joy begins when you stop chasing popularity and start building relationships where you can rest and be real.
