Lesson Overview

1.70 – When Your Friend Starts Isolating: One of the biggest warning signs of suicidal thinking is isolation. If your friend stops texting, cancels plans, or avoids people, that’s your signal to check in. Don’t assume they want to be left alone—it’s often when they need connection most. A simple message like, “Hey, I miss you” can open a door back to hope. Try inviting them out, even if they say no a few times. Keep showing up with gentle consistency. Remind them that they’re valued and their presence matters. Isolation can feed hopelessness, but connection breaks that cycle. Your effort to reach out shows that someone still cares and notices. Sometimes your persistence can be the light that guides them back toward safety and support.
