Lesson Overview

1.42 – Who to Talk to and How to Say It: Finding the right person to talk to can make all the difference when you’re carrying too much alone. Start by thinking about who has treated you kindly or made you feel seen before. Trusted people may include a teacher, family member, coach, or even a hotline worker who listens without judgment. When you’re ready, you can say something simple like, “I’m really hurting right now,” or “I need someone to listen.” You don’t have to explain everything at once — sharing even a small part can help lighten the load. Some people find it easier to write a note or send a message first. If the first person doesn’t respond how you hoped, try another — not everyone knows what to say, but someone will. Reaching out isn’t about weakness; it’s about giving yourself a chance to be understood. Each time you open up, you build courage and create space for real support. You are never a burden for needing to talk.
