🛡️ Teen Suicide Series
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.39 – When You’re Tired of Pretending to Be Okay: Wearing a fake smile every day drains the life out of you. Pretending to be fine when you’re breaking inside is exhausting, and it often makes loneliness worse. People may praise your strength, not realizing you’re falling apart underneath. Being honest about your pain doesn’t make you weak—it makes you human. You don’t owe the world constant positivity; you deserve space to be real. Admitting “I’m not okay” is the first step toward relief. When you let someone in, you give yourself permission to breathe again. You can’t heal what you keep hidden behind a mask. Little by little, honesty rebuilds connection and trust. Real strength is allowing yourself to be seen, not pretending you’re perfect.
