🛡️ Teen Suicide Series
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.97 – Building a Support System From Scratch: Building a support system from scratch takes courage, especially when you’ve felt alone for a long time. Start by reaching out to one person who feels safe — maybe a counselor, friend, or online community. From there, you can slowly add people who make you feel understood and cared for. It’s okay if trust doesn’t come right away; it grows through consistency and honesty. Support doesn’t have to be big to be powerful — sometimes it’s just one call or one check-in that keeps you grounded. You can also find support in groups, classes, or shared hobbies that help you connect with others. Building a network gives you a safety circle to turn to when things feel heavy. Over time, you’ll learn that it’s okay to both ask for and give help. Relationships built from authenticity last longer and feel stronger. Having people who care doesn’t make you weak; it makes you human and gives you reasons to keep going.
