Lesson Overview

1.7 – Warning Signs People Often Miss: There are many warning signs that someone may be struggling, but they’re often easy to overlook. Some people withdraw from friends or stop doing things they used to enjoy. Others might give away possessions, say goodbye in subtle ways, or suddenly seem calmer after deep sadness. Mood changes, risky behavior, and talking about feeling trapped can also be signals. Sometimes the signs are quiet—like sleeping too much, losing interest, or saying “everyone would be better off without me.” It’s important to listen closely and take every sign seriously. When someone opens up, even a little, it’s a doorway to help. The earlier the signs are noticed, the sooner support can make a difference. Paying attention could save someone’s life and remind them they matter more than they realize.
