Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.75 – You’re Not Their Therapist — But You Can Help: Being a friend doesn’t mean you have to take on the role of a therapist. You can listen, care, and connect them to help without carrying their entire pain. Trying to fix their emotions alone can lead to burnout and frustration. It’s okay to say, “I care about you, and I think you need someone who can really help.” Encouraging them to talk to a counselor or doctor is a sign of wisdom, not weakness. Friendship is about being beside them, not being their solution. You can be a bridge that leads them to healing professionals. Continue to offer small acts of kindness—texts, walks, or check-ins. Those gestures keep the connection alive while the professionals guide their recovery. You don’t have to do it all to make a real difference.
