Lesson Overview

4.11 – Practicing Self-Compassion When Triggered: Self-compassion means treating yourself kindly when stress or emotion feels intense. Instead of judgment, it brings understanding and patience. Being triggered doesn’t mean failure—it means the body remembers. Gentle self-talk like “I’m safe now” or “I’m doing my best” soothes the nervous system. Compassion helps stop cycles of shame or guilt that delay healing. Practicing it turns emotional pain into opportunities for care. Over time, self-compassion rewires how you respond to discomfort. It strengthens inner safety and self-trust. Treating yourself with kindness during hard moments becomes the foundation of emotional resilience.
