Lesson Overview

5.7 – Learning the Difference Between Anger and Hurt: Anger and hurt often travel together, but they mean different things. Hurt is the pain of being wounded or misunderstood; anger is the body’s way of protecting that wound. Learning to tell them apart brings deeper emotional understanding. When anger covers hurt, it can block healing and connection. Pausing to ask “Am I mad or am I hurt?” clarifies what’s really happening. Recognizing hurt allows for comfort, while acknowledging anger helps restore boundaries. Both emotions are valid and deserve attention. Knowing the difference prevents miscommunication and supports emotional growth.
