Lesson Overview

5.1 – Why Naming Feelings Matters: Naming feelings gives clarity to what’s happening inside the mind and body. When emotions go unnamed, they stay confusing and powerful. Putting a word to a feeling turns it into something you can understand and manage. Saying “I feel angry” or “I feel sad” transforms emotion into information. It helps separate the person from the feeling—it’s something you have, not something you are. This awareness creates room for calm and problem-solving. Naming emotions also strengthens communication with others. Over time, identifying feelings builds emotional intelligence and self-trust. It’s the first step toward understanding and regulating your inner world.
