Lesson Overview

13.3 Recognizing Thought Distortions: Thought distortions are mental habits that exaggerate fear and minimize truth, like assuming the worst outcome, mind-reading others’ opinions, or believing one mistake means total failure. You learn to spot these distorted thoughts and challenge them by asking whether they are facts or just fear-based assumptions. You replace automatic worry with more balanced thinking that considers possibilities beyond disaster. With practice, distortions lose their influence because your mind no longer accepts them as unquestioned truth. You gain confidence knowing that fear does not get the final say — reality does.
