Lesson Overview

14.4 Challenging Negative Self-Perception: Social anxiety often comes from a harsh inner critic that insists others will dislike you or notice every flaw. You learn to question these assumptions and replace them with balanced thoughts based on evidence — kindness you’ve shown, connections you’ve built, and the genuine qualities that make you likable. You practice speaking to yourself with the same encouragement you’d give a friend. When the inner critic appears, you acknowledge it but choose not to obey its judgment. You begin to see yourself more clearly: as worthy of belonging, capable of conversation, and deserving of acceptance exactly as you are.
