Lesson Overview

15.10 Managing Travel and Crowds: Travel and crowds can feel threatening because they reduce your sense of control or escape, but learning strategies helps you stay grounded and empowered in these situations. You plan supportive steps — knowing where exits are, having a calming focus object, sharing your plan with someone safe, or using headphones to reduce overstimulation. You practice staying calm in short moments first, then gradually extend the time you remain in busier environments. You remind yourself you are able to step through the discomfort without needing to flee. With each experience, your world becomes bigger again, replacing limits with independence and fear with confidence in your strength.
