15.13 Preventing Relapse Through Awareness: Preventing relapse means recognizing early warning signs that anxiety is gaining momentum again, so you can respond quickly before panic returns to full strength. You notice patterns like increased avoidance, racing thoughts, or fear of leaving comfort zones, and instead of ignoring them, you take action through grounding skills, exposure practice, and supportive self-talk. You reflect on what helped you heal before and use those strategies intentionally rather than waiting for a crisis to appear. You avoid self-criticism because relapse is a part of recovery, not a reason to give up. With awareness, you protect the progress you’ve earned and continue growing resilience. Because every time you stop a setback early, you prove that your strength is permanent — not temporary.
