Lesson Overview

16.9 Building Trust After Violation: Trauma can shatter trust—trust in yourself, trust in others, and trust in the world—so rebuilding it becomes a brave form of recovery. You learn to start slowly, choosing people who consistently show respect, reliability, and care. You allow safe connections to prove that relationships can bring comfort instead of harm. You also work on rebuilding trust in yourself by honoring boundaries, noticing your strengths, and recognizing the wisdom in your protective instincts. Each time you decide to believe in someone trustworthy or in your own ability to make safe choices, you reclaim power stolen by trauma. Trust doesn’t grow overnight—but each act of courage plants another seed, showing that human connection can be a place of healing instead of fear.
