12.30 – Rebuilding Trust in Your Body as a Safe Place to Rest: Trauma, illness, or chronic stress can make your own body feel unsafe, but rebuilding trust is possible through gentle consistency. Start by observing sensations without judgment—warmth, breath, heartbeat—seeing them as signs of life, not threat. Practice slow stretches or grounding meditations before bed to remind yourself your body works for you, not against you. Small acts like moisturizing hands or deep breathing rebuild comfort. Safety grows through repetition, not force. As you treat your body kindly, your nervous system mirrors that care with calm responses. Over time, your body becomes a trusted home again, capable of rest and recovery. Replace frustration with curiosity when discomfort arises. Recognizing your body as an ally allows deeper relaxation and emotional healing. Rest then shifts from battle to partnership—a nightly conversation between mind and body built on patience, compassion, and renewed self-trust.
