20.9 – Building Confidence When Requesting Help: Building confidence when requesting help develops from positive experiences and self-acceptance. Begin by reminding yourself that everyone needs help at some point—it’s part of learning and growth. Rehearse what you want to say so you feel prepared and focused. Choose someone you trust and express your request directly without excessive apologies. Confidence comes from believing your need is valid, not from pretending to have all the answers. When you receive help, show appreciation and follow through responsibly so trust deepens. Over time, this practice rewires your thinking from fear of judgment to gratitude for teamwork. Asking confidently also encourages others to do the same, creating a cycle of openness and support. Real strength isn’t in silence—it’s in the courage to connect when connection is what moves you forward.
