Lesson Overview

25.8 – Protecting Personal Information Online: Protecting personal information online is critical to maintaining privacy and preventing identity theft. Never share sensitive details such as your address, social security number, or passwords through email or direct messages. Review app permissions and limit access to your camera, microphone, and location. Only use secure websites that begin with “https.” Avoid filling out online surveys or quizzes that request personal information—they often collect data for marketing or fraud. Be selective about what you share publicly, even on social media. The less personal data available online, the harder it is for others to misuse it. Staying cautious doesn’t mean living in fear—it means being informed. Protecting your information shows self-respect, proving that digital awareness is the foundation of long-term safety and personal empowerment.
