9.5 – Using Ride-Share Services Safely: Ride-share services can be convenient and flexible, but using them wisely keeps you secure and confident. Always verify the driver’s name, license plate, and photo before getting in the car. Share your trip details with a trusted person or use built-in safety features in the app. Sit in the back seat when possible, and keep your belongings close to avoid distractions. Understanding surge pricing and how to budget for rides helps you plan ahead financially. You can rate drivers and leave feedback to help keep the system safe for others too. Avoid sharing personal details with drivers or taking rides outside the app. Being alert to your surroundings and trusting your instincts is key. Using ride-shares responsibly builds your awareness of boundaries and independence. Over time, you’ll gain the confidence to manage transportation decisions that protect your safety and meet your needs effectively.
