Lesson Overview

2.9 – Practicing Portion Control and Balanced Eating: Balanced eating means fueling your body with the right mix of nutrients, not strict restriction. Visual guides help—half your plate should be fruits or vegetables, a quarter protein, and a quarter grains. Measure portions when learning, then trust your eyes and hunger cues. Slow down and notice how food makes you feel. Eating mindfully helps prevent overeating and builds awareness of fullness. Avoid labeling foods as “good” or “bad”; focus on frequency and balance. Planning snacks between meals stabilizes energy and mood. Drinking water before eating can support portion awareness. Over time, these habits become natural and flexible. You’ll learn to enjoy all foods responsibly, building a healthy relationship with both nourishment and satisfaction.
