15.6 – What to Do When You Feel Stuck or Frozen: Feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’ve failed; it means your brain is overwhelmed by options or fear. When you freeze, the best move is not to force quick action but to ground yourself. Try naming what’s happening out loud, like “I’m unsure what to do next.” Then take one small movement—standing up, stretching, or grabbing water—to break the paralysis. Next, simplify the situation into one decision: what’s the first safe or helpful step? Asking for input or changing your environment often restarts mental flow. People who learn to unfreeze themselves recover focus faster after stress. The key is permission—to pause without quitting. Over time, you’ll see that every “stuck” moment becomes a teacher in resilience, showing you that momentum is built through compassion for yourself, not pressure. The more you practice this, the less power “frozen” moments hold over your confidence.
