Lesson Overview

2.32 – Planning Meals for One vs. a Group: Cooking for one requires simplicity and portion awareness, while cooking for a group demands coordination and balance. When alone, focus on recipes that scale down easily or store well as leftovers. Batch cook small portions of grains and proteins to mix throughout the week. When feeding others, plan dishes that can be assembled or served family-style for efficiency. Consider everyone’s preferences and dietary needs to create inclusivity. Cooking for others strengthens leadership, timing, and collaboration skills. Cooking for yourself nurtures independence and care. Both forms teach different sides of self-reliance. When you adjust your strategy to your audience, food becomes not only sustenance but also communication and connection.
