Lesson Overview

10.28 – Technology Safety—Phones, Apps, GPS, and Social Media: Digital safety protects your real-world wellbeing as much as locks on doors. Keep passwords private, complex, and changed regularly. Avoid sharing addresses, routines, or financial data publicly. GPS tracking can help loved ones ensure your safety but should only be shared with trusted contacts. Review app permissions often; many collect more data than needed. Set social media accounts to private and think twice before posting location tags. Cyber safety isn’t paranoia—it’s boundaries translated into technology. If messages or calls feel suspicious, block and report immediately. Avoid clicking unknown links or downloading unverified apps that can steal information. Teach children that digital footprints last longer than they realize. Responsible tech habits keep your reputation, identity, and peace of mind intact. The internet can empower or endanger; wise navigation ensures that connectivity strengthens your safety instead of silently undermining it.
