Lesson Overview

10.44 – Safety at Night—Inside and Outside the Home: Nighttime safety relies on visibility, vigilance, and preparation. Keep pathways illuminated and entry locks secured before dark. Use motion lights or timers for exteriors. When walking outside, stick to familiar routes and carry small flashlights. Stay aware of surroundings—earbuds low, posture upright, and phone accessible. At home, keep keys and phones near bedsides for quick reach. Trust intuition about sounds or movement; investigate only from safe vantage points or call for assistance. Sleep routines start with security checks that train the mind to rest. Darkness invites imagination, but preparation replaces fear with comfort. Balanced alertness allows peace to coexist with caution. Each night becomes smoother when safety rituals turn into rhythm. Independence means sleeping soundly knowing your environment respects your vigilance, readiness, and right to rest undisturbed.
