Lesson Overview

34.3 – Creating a Simple First Aid Kit: Creating a simple first aid kit ensures you have the tools to handle minor emergencies right away. Include adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipes, gauze pads, adhesive tape, tweezers, scissors, disposable gloves, and a digital thermometer. Add pain relievers, allergy medicine, and any personal prescriptions. Store your kit in an accessible, labeled container and check it every few months to replace expired items. Having supplies ready reduces fear and saves time during stressful moments. Keep smaller kits in your car or backpack for extra safety. Building and maintaining a first aid kit teaches responsibility and preparedness—two key components of independent living. It’s not about expecting danger but being capable when it happens.
