27.6 – Recognizing Signs of Overheating or Cold Stress: Recognizing signs of overheating or cold stress helps you respond before serious health problems develop. Overheating symptoms include dizziness, nausea, excessive sweating, or flushed skin, while cold stress shows through shivering, numbness, or confusion. Both conditions mean your body is struggling to regulate temperature. Move to a safer environment immediately—find shade, hydrate, or warm up indoors. Wear breathable clothing in heat and insulated layers in cold weather to balance body temperature. Awareness prevents exhaustion or frostbite, especially during outdoor activities. Checking in with how your body feels teaches mindfulness and responsibility. Protecting yourself from temperature extremes isn’t just physical care—it’s emotional intelligence that keeps you alert, strong, and ready for each day’s demands.
