14.36 – Letting People Know When You’re Not Available: Boundaries protect energy and time. Inform others politely when you’re unavailable for calls, visits, or favors. You might say, “I have appointments today but can connect tomorrow.” Clear boundaries prevent resentment and confusion. Use your planner to block off “focus time” or “personal hours.” Communicate availability in advance to those who depend on you. Consistency teaches others to respect your schedule and teaches you to respect your own limits. Being unavailable sometimes is not selfish—it’s healthy. The habit creates emotional space for rest and reflection. When people know your rhythm, cooperation improves. Over time, your calendar becomes both a productivity tool and a boundary map. Each time you honor those blocks, you strengthen confidence, reduce anxiety, and show others that stability comes from self-respect expressed through consistent communication.
