12.6 – Tracking Your Sleep Patterns and Energy Levels: Tracking sleep patterns helps you see how choices throughout the day influence your rest quality. You might use a journal, phone app, or simple checklist noting bedtime, wake time, and energy ratings. Over time, patterns reveal themselves—perhaps caffeine late in the day or heavy meals disrupt deep sleep. Seeing the data empowers you to adjust habits intentionally rather than guessing. Tracking energy alongside sleep hours shows how both quantity and quality matter. For example, eight hours of restless sleep might still leave you drained, while six solid hours could feel surprisingly refreshing. Self-tracking builds accountability and awareness of small wins. You begin linking behavior to outcomes, motivating healthier adjustments. With consistency, the numbers tell a story of growth, teaching that improvement doesn’t mean perfection but progress guided by understanding your own rhythms and what helps your body truly recover.
