33.8 – Using Breaks to Reset Your Nervous System: Using breaks to reset your nervous system prevents exhaustion and restores focus. Working or worrying nonstop keeps your body in constant alert mode, draining energy and attention. Short breaks—just five to ten minutes—allow your mind to recharge. Step away from screens, stretch, breathe deeply, or go for a brief walk. Physically changing your environment signals your brain to relax. Regular pauses increase productivity, creativity, and emotional balance. Taking breaks isn’t laziness; it’s maintenance for your mental and physical health. By scheduling rest throughout your day, you prevent burnout before it starts. Small resets build endurance, helping you return to tasks with renewed clarity and calm instead of carrying mounting stress forward.
