9.7 – What to Do When You Miss Your Ride or Get Stranded: Missing a ride or getting stranded can feel stressful, but staying calm and thinking clearly keeps you safe. The first step is to move to a safe, well-lit location and assess your surroundings. Always have a backup contact—like a friend, family member, or transportation service—you can call. Keeping extra cash, a charger, or bus fare helps in emergencies. Apps and maps can help you find alternative routes or nearby transportation options. It’s okay to ask for help from a security guard, bus driver, or staff member if you’re in a public place. Practicing this kind of planning builds confidence and resilience. Learning to handle unexpected setbacks without panic teaches self-control and adaptability. Each time you solve a transportation challenge, you grow more skilled and prepared for future situations. The goal is to turn moments of uncertainty into opportunities for problem-solving and personal growth.
