14.10 – Practicing Planning Ahead Without Feeling Overwhelmed: Planning ahead should reduce anxiety, not increase it. The trick lies in breaking large goals into smaller, scheduled steps. People often overestimate what they can do in one day and underestimate what they can accomplish in a week of steady effort. Use a calendar to spread out tasks realistically. Focus on pacing, not speed. When your plan reflects your energy, it becomes supportive instead of stressful. Writing tasks in order of importance helps filter distractions. Don’t aim for a perfect plan—aim for one you can follow. Each time you plan calmly, your confidence grows. You start anticipating challenges and adjusting early. Over time, planning becomes less about control and more about direction, guiding you toward independence and peace of mind.
