Lesson Overview

1.1 – Developing a 24-Hour Crisis Watch Plan: A 24-hour crisis watch plan is a personal safety system that ensures someone always knows where you are, how you’re doing, and how to act fast if you start to struggle. It begins with choosing a small, trusted network—friends, family, or mentors—who agree to check in at specific times during the day and night. You write down when and how they’ll contact you, what signs mean you need help, and what they should do if you don’t respond. A strong plan also lists nearby safe places you can go at any hour, like hospitals, crisis centers, or a friend’s home. Technology can help too—location sharing, calendar alerts, or automated texts can remind your team to stay connected. The goal is to make sure you’re never isolated when you feel unsafe. A well-built plan reduces panic because everyone already knows their role. Consistent communication creates calm and confidence. It turns uncertainty into a shared structure that keeps you protected around the clock.
