1.1 – What to Do When You Feel Like Giving Up: Feeling like giving up can sneak up when pressure builds faster than your ability to breathe through it. The first thing to remember is that feelings are temporary even when they feel endless. Step back and separate what you can control from what you can’t; small control gives direction. When hopeless thoughts start to loop, write them down, then write one reason you’ve survived hard things before. Movement helps too — walk, stretch, drink water, or call someone safe. Your brain needs signals that life is still moving. Silence the voice that says you’re weak; endurance is not weakness, it’s skill. Give yourself permission to pause without quitting altogether. Even broken moments are part of recovery’s pattern. You are not the only one who’s ever felt this low, and that truth means there’s always a path back to steadier ground if you keep breathing forward.
